York County Children's Advocacy Center - Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Opportunities
Our goal at the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) is to ensure that children
are not re-victimized by the very system designed to protect them. All types of
volunteers are needed to help us make the CAC of York County work for the
children. Listed below are some volunteer opportunities that are flexible and
allow for a range of time commitment, abilities and level of involvement.
- Interview Assistant Volunteer
volunteers greet families and assist with supervision of children in our Family Waiting Room, if necessary, while their parent or caregiver meets with the investigative team. Interview Assistant volunteers received special training and must complete child abuse clearances.
- Building and Maintenance
volunteers are needed to assist with any
decorating or repair needs and help keep the Children's Advocacy Center
beautiful
- Community Outreach/Public Relations
volunteers are needed to help with
the publication of a quarterly newsletter, which will require skills such as
layout and design and graphic arts. Volunteers can also assist at our
booth/display at the mall, during conferences or other special events.
Volunteers can also become part of a Speaker's Bureau to increase community
awareness through public speaking engagements to civic clubs and other
community groups.
- Fundraising
volunteers will assist in a variety of fundraising
activities during the year and bring any new fundraising ideas to the CAC
- Other possibilities
volunteers are needed to serve in many other
capacities as our center grows!
If you would like to help abused children by becoming involved as a
Children's Advocacy Center volunteer, please contact: Cheri Crounse,
